Secondary Barricade situations arise when the Staff key is unable to operate the lock cylinder. This situation can result either due to a key or cylinder failing through fair wear & tear or as the result of a deliberate attack on the cylinder by means of the insertion of a foreign object such as chewing gum, toilet tissue etc.
Should this situation arise a secondary means of access into a room will be required to prevent unnecessary damage to the door and avoid ward disruption. Primera have recognised this need and have developed our unique Secondary Barricade override facility specifically to enable a fast response so enhancing the personal safety and wellbeing of the Service User and all others involved.
The facility is accessed by the use of an anti-tamper screwdriver and a T key tool is then used to retract the deadbolt. Both items are provided in our Emergency Access kits.
Secondary Barricade override facility is available in two formats, the PR-2- ‘Four Screw Solution’ and the new and enhanced PR-3- ‘One Screw Solution’. Details of these alternative versions are provided on the next pages.
